It is with great regret that we record the following deaths:
Many members will recall Gordon and Pat Chapman, who
regularly took part in our meetings until they moved to Laon, France, in 2004.
Gordon Chapman was President 1984-5, when he was a partner in F H Browne and
Sons, and Pat was the accountant.
Following a fall from which she never fully recovered, Pat had been in declining health for almost four years, but one of her more recent achievements was the award of an MA in Celtic Studies in 2000.
A Service of Thanksgiving took place on 29th August at St John the Baptist, Little Missenden, where she and Gordon were married.
Kathleen was the wife of our member Philip Moore,
Organist and Choirmaster of St Mary’s, Hunton. Sadly she had been suffering from
cancer for eleven years, but after being particularly unwell in the autumn of
2007, became well enough to attend our Organ Festival and the AGM last July at
Philip and Kathleen met at the Royal Academy, where she studied cello and piano. At her request, Philip played the organ at her Service of Thanksgiving held at Hunton on 19th September. The KCOA was well represented by our President and other members.
