Matthew Jorysz  Canterbury recital

by Barbara Childs

February 8th this year was a day when several members of the KCOA attended Evensong in Canterbury Cathedral, which was followed by Matthew Jorysz’s recital, being part of his prize for winning the Advanced Class in the Organ Festival 2007.

At only 15 years of age, and as cool as a cucumber, Matthew gave a very interesting and well executed performance, opening with Fête by Langlais, and then Paean by Howells, Mendelssohn’s Sonata v1, Johnson’s Trumpet Tune in A and finishing with Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in F minor thus proving that he was a very worthy winner of our competition.
